OH YOU KNOW – IT’S A CARNATION… OF SORTS… ISN’T IT?
BLUE NONCOGNOSCO [Cornflower ‘Centaurea’ – thanks Amelia]
MINIATURE RED ROSE
(replete with whitefly – a job for the weekend)
THAT USEFUL PLANT THAT GROWS BETWEEN PAVING STONES [= Campanula – thanks again Amelia]
A lovely selection. Your blue noncognesco is a cornflower of the Centaurea family. It could be wild, there are a lot of species and the petals are thinner and wider depending on the variety, I think yours is very pretty. I think the plant growing between your paving stones is a Campanula – also a very varied lot, with some that are quite tall. The small ones are lovely in paths and on walls.

Thanks Amelia, I was hoping someone – probably you – would row me out of trouble! I think I knew those in the back of my mind. Wherever that is located these days. I’ll amend accordingly. RH
